We are beyond excited to share some incredible news with you! Women Helping Women Fund (WHWF) has reached a remarkable milestone this year by awarding a total of $363,000 in grants and scholarships to support local initiatives right here in Spokane. This significant contribution is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of our community, focusing on education, health, and economic empowerment for women and children.
Empowering Our Community
The funds have been thoughtfully distributed to a wide range of programs and organizations. These grants and scholarships are designed to provide critical resources and support to women and children, helping to create opportunities, drive positive change, and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
A Message from Our Executive Director
Heather Hamlin, our executive director, expressed her pride and gratitude, saying, "We are incredibly proud to reach this significant funding milestone. Our mission is to create a stronger, more inclusive community by supporting the women and children who are at its heart. The generous contributions from our members and supporters have made this possible, and we are excited to see the positive impact these funds will have."
Our Journey and Impact
Since our founding in 1992, WHWF has awarded nearly $7 million to over 650 programs that serve women and children in the Spokane community. This incredible achievement is made possible by the generosity of our Giving Circle members, donors, and participants in our annual Give Like a Woman event held each spring.
Looking Ahead
This year’s funding highlights our continued dedication to driving change and improving lives through collective philanthropy. We are committed to building a large community of educated, strategic givers who are inspired to make lasting change.
