Victor Rivas Rivers is an actor, an author and an advocate. A childhood survivor of domestic violence, Victor was able to break the cycle of violence and now serves as a regular speaker and spokesperson for the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Victor's memoir, A Private Family Matter, chronicles how, through the help of his community, Victor was able to move from being a rage filled gang member to class president and eventually a champion for all those impacted by domestic violence.
"While Women Helping Women Fund was established around the idea that together women can be a powerful force for change, we recognize that the entire community needs to be involved in the many important issues we focus on. Victor’s story highlights why domestic violence is not just a women’s issue but instead requires all of us to collectively change our community."
-Traci McGlathery, WHWF Board President
