Impact Highlights
We've been busy over the past year as we continue building a large community of educated, strategic givers who are inspired to make lasting change. Your kind heart made it possible to fund crucial programs, support scholars, and improve our community.
We look forward to learning and growing with you over the next year!
Grantmaking
Over $300,000 was allocated to support 16 nonprofit programs in the areas of access to basic needs and supplies, support for mental health, childcare, foster care, employment assistance, and parenting assistance.
We also continued InstaGrants. Each month a minimum of $500 is distributed to help local nonprofits address time-sensitive needs.
Vivian Winston Scholars
$15,000 was awarded to five mothers pursuing higher education.
A special thank you to the Avista Foundation for helping us to award the most in scholarship funding since the program was started in 2006!
Collective Giving
Our Collective Giving Community nearly doubled! This amazing group of givers is now over 200 members strong. Together, members magnify their impact and take an active role in local philanthropy while improving the lives of women and children in Spokane County.
An Iconic Night at The Fox
To create a unique experience to celebrate WHWF's 30th Anniversary, we hosted our annual event at The Fox with special guests, Notorious RBG co-authors, Shana Knizhnik and Irin Camron. We enjoyed great food, wonderful music, and an impactful program.
Connecting Community
Our unique role in Spokane allows us to be a hub that connects individuals with local nonprofits. In 2021-22 we hosted volunteer opportunities, donation drives, and virtual discussions with local leaders and nonprofits.
